Primary 7

Welcome to our Primary 7 class page!  Our teachers are Mrs Lowry and Mrs Grant.  Mrs Grant teaches us on a Monday and Tuesday and Mrs Lowry teaches us Wednesday - Friday.  We also have three wonderful classroom assistants called Mrs Hall, Miss Pierce and Miss Mathers.

We have made a great start to Primary 7 this year.  Our topic for term 1 is the Victorians, which we are enjoying so far.  We have been learning lots of facts about Queen Victoria and her family and what life was like for a child in Victorian times.  We are very thankful that we don't have to be chimney sweeps or work in the mines and factories nowadays!  We are looking forward to our Victorian dress up day later this term.

In Primary 7, we have many leadership opportunities.  At Central, we have four Houses - De Courcy, De Lacy, Swift and Chichester.  Last week, our entire school had an election and cast their votes for our Primary 7 House captains.  These captains are head of their House and organise many events and competitions throughout the school year...it is a very exciting job!  House points are also given out in class for good manners, kindness to others and excellent behaviour.  Our new House captains are very excited to get started!  We also have Primary 7 prefects that are chosen each half term.  Our prefects get to do lots of jobs around the school and set an excellent example to our younger pupils.  Our prefects have already had the opportunity to lead an assembly this year and talk to the children about the importance of our school rules. It has been a very busy start to the school year!
